AboutSound Baragwanath Partnership Programme

AboutSound has entered into a public-private initiative to assist 25 vulnerable state patients at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital to receive their life-changing cochlear implants. The devices have been secured, and the patients have already received the required audiological and medical workup, but the hospital does not have the theatre or surgical capacity to perform the procedures within the available critical time window. A Jacaranda FM Good Morning Angels Mandela Drive secured R2.5 million to cover the expenses of these surgeries.

AboutSound Surgical Programme

Through the AboutSound Surgical Programme, we help make life-changing hearing surgery possible for people who would otherwise be unable to access it. Working alongside qualified medical professionals and surgical teams, we fund appropriate interventions such as cochlear implants and bone-conduction devices - giving patients the opportunity to reconnect with the people, education and world around them.
